According to Japan media reports say, autopsy results reveal that ex-pornography actress Ai Iijima has been dead for over a week before she was found in her home bathroom in Tokyo on Wednesday afternoon by a colleague.As Iijima's body had decayed, autopsy results were unable to pin down the reason of her death. The police are investigating her death along the lines of her known illnesses, but they do not rule out suicide. Police says there are no signs of fights at the scene of her death and has therefore ruled out murder. The case is also temporarily classified as suicide.

Iijima resigned from entertainment business in 2007, quoting health issues as the reason. She had been in touch with her artiste managing company until five days ago. A female colleague on close terms with Iijima got worried when there had been no news of the latter. She requested for Iijima's condominium security guard to let her into the unit where she found her lying motionless in the bathroom.

Iijima had revealed on her blog several times after quitting showbiz that she has found new jobs. However, an investment plan in a retail store with a friend did not work out eventually. Iijima was upset over setbacks in her career. On Feb 24 this year, she wrote that she would be doing treatment in a hospital for depression.
